Three hurricanes crossed Manatee County in ten weeks. Your cage remembers every one.

Debby's rain, Helene's surge, Milton's wind. Autumn 2024 put every enclosure from the river to the island through a live test. Repair what the storms took, renew the weak points they will test next, and get it in writing. Request your FREE, no obligation written estimate today.

Storm damage, or getting ready for June?

Cage damage from a storm? Call now. Made-safe comes first: loose panels and hanging mesh secured on the first visit, photos before anything is removed, then a rescreen slot with the queue stated plainly.

Getting ready for June? Cables, stainless fasteners, and the question everyone asks about cutting screens. The quiet months are when a cage gets looked at without a wait.

The season calendar

When What to do Why
Before June Renew the weak points: bracing cables checked and re-tensioned, rusted runs replaced, every fastener renewed with marine-grade stainless Decades of wind cycling fatigue the original screws quietly. Orange screw heads are the cheapest storm prep there is
When a storm forms Ask whether your cage was engineered to keep its screens Modern code-compliant cages are built to ride out design winds with screens in place. Older pre-code cages are a conversation to have before the cone shows up, not from a ladder at midnight
After Photograph first, then make safe, then schedule Many Florida policies cap screen enclosures under Coverage B or exclude screen wind damage without an endorsement. Your photos build the file

This county, lately

Milton came ashore at Siesta Key in October 2024 and crossed the region with winds near 110 mph here, an estimated $136.5 million in residential damage in Manatee County alone. Helene's surge two weeks earlier rewrote Anna Maria's flood memory, and Idalia in 2023 had already put four feet of water on parts of the island and closed both bridges. Manatee County Emergency Management publishes the county's seasonal guidance; the county waived hurricane-repair permit fees into May 2025, which is how long recovery ran.

Five permit desks, one service area

Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, and Bradenton Beach are three separate cities with three building departments. The City of Bradenton and Palmetto are two more, and the Manatee County Building Division covers everything unincorporated. Like-for-like rescreening usually needs no permit, structural frame repair does, and any repair in a flood zone needs one everywhere. Your address decides, and the contractor keeps it straight.
